One possible reason… there may be a problem with Equifax computer system incorrectly reporting dates. For instance a collection that was opened years ago might be updated with a recent ‘open’ date. We’ve seen this occur in the past with other bureaus and hopefully this will get corrected very soon.
If you are using Credit Keeper to view your reports and scores online, at this time we do not use the ‘score tracker’. It currently has little relevance; please refer to the three inidvidual scores. You can order new reports and scores once a month.

Having a long standing credit card that is used as outlined on our FAQ page is a real plus. Cards can become inactive if you neglect to use them. We recommend using your cards at least once every six months and take two months to pay it off to verify the account activity is reported.
When you are in a temporary loan mod and making partial payments, your creditor will most likely report the account is being paid ‘late’.
